ICYD Selections

ICYD Selections 2024

The International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD) is the largest and most prestigious competition for 15 and under debaters in the world. It is conducted every year alternatingly by the Cambridge and Oxford Unions in the UK. The upcoming championship in 2024 is set to be held at Oxford University.
Each year, ISDS carefully chooses and trains enthusiastic individuals to form the Indian contingent for the International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD) through our National Selection process and a competitive invitational tournament.

ISDS’ History at ICYD

Since 2017, ISDS has trained and subsidized teams to ICYD. The students also emerged as the best speaker and second best speaker at the tournament on India’s debut appearance, making the whole country proud. In the recent past, ISDS-coached teams have been ICYD Champions and top 10 speakers consistently since 2021, granting us a hat-trick run as of 2023!
