ISDS Team India at the International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD) 2019, Cambridge, UK
The International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD), hosted year on year in alternate venues by the Cambridge Union and the Oxford Union respectively is the largest international competitive debating tournament for junior debaters aged 15 and under.
ISDS participated in the finals day of the International Competition for Young Debaters (ICYD) 2019 at the Cambridge Union on April 27th.
Result
- Aarushi Wadiwala and Jahnavi Kumar from Essar International School, Surat, qualified from the Indian ICYD regional round and represented ISDS at Cambridge. After four rounds of debating, they ranked among the top 8 teams and made it to the semi-finals.
- Jahnavi was the 7th best speaker of the competition, and Aarushi ranked 11th.
Debaters
- Aarushi Wadiwala: Aarushi studied in 9th grade at Essar International School, Surat. She is also on the India Orange team 2019.
- Jahnavi Kumar: Jahnavi studied in 9th grade at Essar International School, Surat. She is also on the India Green team 2019.

Chaitanya was a debater on Team India (in 2016 to AWSDC and 2017 to WSDC and AWSDC). Chaitanya is studying Law at University of Oxford.
