This is an introductory module to public speaking delivered over four 1:45 hour long sessions for students from grades 5 – 6. Please note that there is mandatory pre-work involved that students have to complete to get the full benefit of the lessons. Trainers in these workshops are among the best debaters in India and the world.

What will students learn from the Public Speaking Module?

The lessons are divided into four sessions primarily focusing on:

Session 1:

Essential Principles of Public Speaking
Knowing the important elements of public speaking
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Stance, clarity, and projection (online and in person) exercises

Session 2:

Crafting Impactful Speeches
Choosing the content of your speech
Developing a structured speech
Tips for prepared v. extempore speeches

Session 3:

Delivering Impactful Speeches
Developing intentional gestures
Tailoring your voice for emotive delivery
Theatre exercises

Session 4:

Practice Makes Perfect – Speech Delivery and Feedback
Speech delivery practice and feedback
